Post-Tropical Cyclone Hermine is causing some gnarly swells this Labor Day weekend.

On Sunday morning, as Hermine continues to drift further eastward, photographs and videos posted to Twitter and Instagram show intense waves striking beaches on the coasts of New York and New Jersey.

While some surfers appear to be taking full advantage of these epic waves, the storm -- which is expected to inundate the North Carolina sounds and northern Outer Banks to parts of the East Coast stretching from Virginia Beach all the way to Bridgeport, Connecticut -- has the National Hurricane Center warning folks to steer clear of the water because of dangerous rip tides.
